Arrest Warrants Issued Against Man Who Held Women At Knifepoint

Arrest warrants were issued against a Summertown man during the weekend after he allegedly held three women at knifepoint inside his home.

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were initially dispatched to the Jonestown Road home around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, deputies report that the suspect had already left the premises.

The female resident, they report, exited a bedroom holding a blood-soaked towel over her face. She told deputies that her roommate, thirty-year-old Colt Chambers, had struck her in the face during an argument. She said that he also struck his girlfriend in the face, breaking her glasses.

The victim was transported to Crockett Hospital where it was determined that, in addition to a facial laceration, she had sustained a broken nose.

Deputies were unable to locate Chambers at that time, but issued warrants charging him with two counts of domestic assault.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m., deputies were again summoned to the home. They were advised that Chambers had returned and was holding several persons at knifepoint.

Deputies report that Chambers again fled prior to their arrival. They report finding three women, including the earlier victim, hiding behind a bedroom door, “in great fear for their safety.”

The women told deputies that Chambers had threatened to kill them while wielding a twelve inch bowie knife. The women left to stay at a safe location.

Deputies again obtained warrants, this time charging Chambers with one count of aggravated domestic assault and two counts of aggravated assault.
